I have studied Mindfulness at The Oxford Mindfulness Centre where I have completed The Foundational Training course to become a Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Teacher.
My Physiotherapy treatment approach combines my knowledge and experience gained over more than 25 years as a Physiotherapist both privately and in the NHS. My specialism has been rehabilitation and helping people to recover from injury or illness to the best of their ability. I use 'hands on' therapy modalities includng massage, myofascial release and joint mobilisations as well as exercise programmes with a Pilates bias. I also use Ultrasound if required.
I will only ever use treatments the client consents to and is comfortable with. Most appointments will include home exercises and follow up advice. If appropriate I incoporate the principles of Mindfulness into treatments - especially where emotions such as fear, pain, anxiety or stress are present.
I run regular Pilates classes and 1:1 sessions using the APPi programme and my Physiotherapy knowledge; enabling clients with with injuries and physical limitations to participate as safely as possible.
I also run eight week courses in Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) for anyone who wants to liberate themselves from the worries and stresses of life and dicover there is a way to live life with greater well-being, ease and satisfaction.
As a registrant with the Health Care Professions Council my practice is evidence based, current and I am very proactive about attending regular training courses and conferences and updating my knowledge.
In addition to my work, which I am fortunate enough to love, I live in The new Forest with my family, horses and dogs. I love being outdoors wether walking, riding, cycling or just sitting!
My passion is to try to bring to others an opoortunity to live life as fully as possible by facilitating good health - both physically and mentally.
